Jersey Mencap Social Club offers a variety of social activities for adults with a learning disability.

Our aim is to offer more choice, opportunity and social inclusion to our members.

Activities include bowling, Zumba, film club, ❚fitness and discos.

With many activities we also have a meal together.  We often introduce new activities and welcome any suggestions from our members.

Jersey Mencap host the activities with a small team of co-ordinators who are there to oversee the activity. We generally have group sizes of 10-15 members with 2-3 Jersey Mencap co-ordinators.

Please do note: Jersey Mencap are not care providers so unable to provide ‘one to one’ care or assist with any personal/medical/behavioural needs.

For those clients that need additional support they are welcome to bring their support worker to join in the activity – we would suggest that this isn’t parent-carer. Support workers are invited to fully engage with the activity and therefore there is a small charge to help cover our costs and a receipt can be supplied.   Please advise at the time of booking details of any support/care provider.

All the activities are subsidised by Jersey Mencap and we work hard to keep costs reasonable. To maintain the social club costs Jersey Mencap around £8,000 per year and we are reliant on donations and fundraisers to keep the club going.

With this in mind, bookings and payments are required in advance of the activities.

Jersey Mencap cannot provide any transport to or from activities. Please do let us know if you are unable to attend an activity as that place might be offered to someone else.  The club is very popular so we cannot guarantee a place at every activity. For new members the cost to join the club is £15.

We post the list of activities every 3 months to our members. Places are limited so we advise early booking to avoid disappointment.
